Individual therapy can be paramount in helping one overcome a wide variety of difficulties. Whether an individual has been struggling chronically or has only recently begun to feel unsatisfied, there are many reasons a person seeks the benefits of therapy. Through an ongoing dialogue within a safe environment, individual therapy allows for guided exploration of one's cognitive and emotional landscapes. The primary goals for individual therapy are to both decrease suffering and increase quality of life. This is accomplished through a range of methods, from behavioral intervention to increasing self-awareness and insight. Individualized goals are set collaboratively between client and clinician with ongoing review and revision.
