Rachel Archer

Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor

Rachel is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) with a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She believes that with the support of a compassionate and knowledgeable therapist, anyone is capable of taking their first step toward creating positive change. Her goal is to approach problems alongside her clients, with respect, curiosity, and care.

Rachel has enjoyed the opportunity to gain a broad array of experiences providing support in the mental health field prior to beginning her work as a therapist. She worked with children and adolescents in need of short-term crisis stabilization, women and families affected by domestic violence, and children with autism while completing her undergraduate degree in psychology. As she undertook her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, she provided therapy services to individuals and families at the Talley Family Counseling Center affiliated with Western Kentucky University. After graduating from WKU, Rachel returned to Louisville where she worked with adults in community mental health as a crisis therapist, and then provided outpatient therapy to individuals and families in Shelby County. While in community mental health, she had the opportunity to be trained in multiple modalities, including racial trauma therapy with Dr. Steven Kniffley and CBT-SP (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy-Suicide Prevention). She is grateful for the knowledge and experience she has gained since entering the world of mental health and looks forward to continuing her education and training, especially in the areas of cultural competence and trauma work.

Rachel recognizes the impact of feeling heard and valued, and strives to approach her work with this foremost in mind. With unconditional, well-informed support, she believes in the power of individuals and families to realize their goals and create sustainable change.
