Sebastian Crash Hamilton

Certified Social Worker

Sebastian (Crash) Hamilton (he/they) graduated with a Masters in Social Work from UofL's Kent School in May of 2023. He has been working as a therapist since June of 2023 and is excited to be part of the team at Mandala House. He is passionate about helping others in the LGBTQ+ community navigate the complexities of their identities, their relationship to themselves and others, and the challenges and losses that come along with living as a queer person. Sebastian wants to create a space of total support, focus, and grounding for the people he is working alongside. He wants to walk with them through the hard things and also celebrate their victories. He believes that everyone is greatly impacted by the people around them, and he wants to be part of fostering a supportive LGBTQ+ community in Louisville. Sebastian wants to accompany queer and trans people who are working through their goals, because we all deserve to thrive and not just survive.

Crash has worked in various roles with people of all ages and genders. Over the last 11 years, he has worked with adolescents in the foster care system, people experiencing intimate partner violence or sexual assault, people in addiction recovery, people who are adapting to life changes or aging, and people who are experiencing grief. In 2020, he completed a Death Doula training to have more tools for helping people navigate loss and grief, particularly queer and trans people whose identities and wishes are often not respected by loved ones. Sebastian typically utilizes ACT, Internal Family Systems Therapy, CBT, and Somatic Therapy techniques. He will work with each individual to figure out what best suits their needs, as everyone's journey is different.

In his free time, Sebastian likes to stay physically active. Exercise has been a great way for him to connect with his body and connect with others. He likes to spend time working on creative projects and volunteering with local organizations that are working to make life better for queer and trans Kentuckians. He is completely deaf in one ear and is interested in the intersections of queer identity and disability. He is excited by learning new things and sharing knowledge with others, and believes that everyone is a teacher.
